Below, we’ve included the answers to a handful of the most common questions we receive. If the information you’re looking for isn’t mentioned on this page, please call us and we’ll assist you to the best of our ability!
How should I replace my missing teeth?
There are several methods of replacing lost teeth. While we offer traditional treatments such as dental bridges and dentures, they’re not the ideal solution for all patients. In most cases, we recommend dental implants due to their incredible reliability, longevity, and esthetics. Dr. Oakey can even place the implants right here in our office for added convenience!
My teeth are crooked. What are my treatment options?
Whether your teeth are overcrowded, unevenly spaced, or just generally crooked, we have options to straighten out your smile. Invisalign uses a series of clear plastic trays that fit snugly over your teeth and gradually shift them into a straighter position. However, patients with more severe orthodontic issues may instead benefit more from traditional metal braces.
How often should I visit a dentist?
The answer varies based on each person’s individual needs, but on average, it’s recommended that you see a dentist for a checkup and cleaning at least twice a year – or every six months. These routine appointments allow our team to detect oral health issues early on and clear away cavity-causing plaque from your teeth.
Why do I need professional cleanings if I brush and floss at home?
Daily brushing and flossing are absolutely essential in keeping your mouth healthy, but they simply can’t clean every part of your mouth. Plaque can accumulate in hard-to-reach areas and contribute to tooth decay and gum disease. That’s where professional cleanings come in. Our hygienists can remove built-up plaque to keep your smile healthy between visits.
Do you see children?
We welcome patients of all ages, including kids. Our team is specially trained to help your child become comfortable in the dental chair, teach them how to properly brush and floss at home, and administer treatments designed to protect their developing smile.
Will you accept my insurance?
Lake Whitney accepts most major PPO dental insurance plans. We also offer in-network savings with Medicaid and CHIP. Our expert team members can even handle the paperwork on your behalf so that you don’t have to lift a finger to enjoy the savings. To find out approximately how much you’ll be saving at your next visit, give us a call today.
Can I visit if I have a dental emergency?
Absolutely! We will do everything we can to see on the same day you call with a dental emergency. After all, these situations often do not resolve on their own. Whether you have an intense toothache caused by a cavity, physical trauma that damaged your teeth or gums, or a severe oral infection that requires a root canal, our team is here to help.
